Development of Underwater Vehicle

With the Earth being three quarters covered in water, it is only natural that people want to explore this mysterious region and learn what it has to offer. One means for achieving this is through vehicles that travel beneath the surface of the ocean. These vehicles can be manned or unmanned, remotely operated or autonomous and various versions of such vehicles are already in operation throughout the world in numerous roles. The School of Engineering and Information Technology seeks to add to this number with a vehicle of its own that can be used to carry communications equipment for underwater communication testing and analysis. The purpose of this thesis is to construct a vehicle for use within the school. Some design consideration is taken into account, particularly in regards to using water jets for propulsion and direction control.
